FAQ

There is nothing to buy, no account to create, and no ads. It is a personal project, not a product on sale.

Not yet — there is no public installer. If you have it, someone built a copy for you. See Getting the app.

It is made for Windows and also works on macOS and Linux. Windows gets the extra polish: the window corners, the frame and the tray icon are tuned for it.

Can I close the app while something downloads?

Section titled “Can I close the app while something downloads?”

Yes. Closing the window leaves the app running next to the clock and the download keeps going. The icon’s menu brings the window back.

Yes. Every download keeps a note of how far it got, so after a reboot it resumes where it stopped — at worst a couple of seconds of work is fetched again.

Can it download videos from streaming sites?

Section titled “Can it download videos from streaming sites?”

No. It saves files that have a direct link. Video sites usually hide the video behind a player, and putting those streams back together is not something this app does. If a page does offer a direct video or sound file, right-click it and copy the link, then add that link to the app.

Yes, either for everything at once in Options → Network, or for a single download in its Speed limiter tab.

Not yet. Downloads → Scheduler and queues says it is coming soon rather than opening a screen that does not work.

No account, no analytics, no update check. The only things it reaches out to are the files you ask it to download, plus the browser hand-off, which stays on your own computer.

Wherever you chose for that download — by default your usual Downloads folder. Removing an entry from the list never deletes the file.

Can I use the pictures and fonts in my own project?

Section titled “Can I use the pictures and fonts in my own project?”
